Category: Palm Trees Article: Self Cleaning Or Not
Palm Trees can be divided into two groups, self cleaning and non self cleaning, most of the different types of palm trees are self cleaning, i.e. that when their leaves die off and brown, they fall off the palm tree are readily cleaned up by gathering the palm tree leaves from the ground, The palm trees that are not self cleaning, the leaves that die off, continue to be attached to the palm tree and don’t fall off readily until such time the connection between the palm tree frond (leaf) and the palm tree trunk has deteriorated enough to come apart. It would be wise to provide yourself with as little expense in maintaining your palm trees as possible when choosing what type of palm tree to buy, buy a self cleaning type of palm tree to keep your maintenance costs down.
e.g.
The Cocas palm tree is one type of palm tree that s not self cleaning
The Cotton palm tree is another type of palm tree that is not self cleaning.
The Alexander palm tree is self cleaning,
The Cuban Royal palm tree is self cleaning,
When choosing your palm trees for the garden, ask your local nursery outlet on advice regarding what palm trees are available for your area, as well as what the growing habits are for each different type of palm tree available.
