Category: Land Clearing Article: Selective Clearing
Clearing land for developments needs to be in accordance with any local council laws, It is easy to visualise a end result, with a clear path ahead of you, but with a little understanding and advice, you may be able to use some trees already in existence to your advantage. With today’s values of tree conservation in mind, and our ever increasing awareness of the underlying value of trees in our landscape, being able to utilise existing trees into our development and vision of our end result will in turn add speedy value to any building project. To import large established trees into your project, can be a costly exercise, You cannot put a value on a mature size established tree, growing already, In a lot of instances, it is irreplaceable, therefore priceless.
Within today’s suburbia, the average building block is shrinking, so is the room for a large, mature gum tree or fig, In most instances, the average back yard only has room for 1 or 2 of the larger species of trees to be in exisistance if at all any. With larger homes being built on smaller blocks, our wish for a backyard oasis is still possible, only with careful consideration to the species to which we want to live with. As long as we consider that most trees continue to grow in size, and that they don’t just stop growing when they reach nursery tag label height.
When deciding on clearing your block for development, consult with your tree care professional, and ask, what trees may be suitable for keeping within the confines of the expectations of what you would like to achieve, Keep in mind, a tree removal, or pruning job done after the building work has been completed, is obviously more expensive than having the room and access before building work has started. It is only when, the project has finished, and the buildings are occupied, that we really come to terms with what we have been able to achieve in leaving existing trees into our landscape.
