There are only a couple of different types of palm trees that require cleaning

The number one type of palm tree that requires cleaning is the Queen Palm or Cocas Palm, Once an age of approx 7-10 years the Cocas Palm or produces a continual cycle of fruit, seeds and flowers, which make it  an untidy palm tree to have, unless you continually clean it.

If timed correctly, and cleaned on a regular basis to keep them looking good, you can enjoy the cocas palm and the qualities of tropical atmosphere that they provide, without the ongoing mess of the over ripe seeds falling on to the ground. For the cocas palm to look at its best, the dead fronds, fruit & flowers are removed from palms.

When we clean a cocas palm, 

we remove the dead and dying leaves, (fronds)

we remove the bunches of fruit or berries,

we remove the flowers, pre-seed stage 

we remove the opened seed boat

we remove the unopened seed pods, (Torpedo in shape)

If left without cleaning, the seeds, berries or fruit, which ever you would like to call them, can become very hazardous on the ground in that the fruit act like marbles and a slip or fall is possible, If the cleaning of the palm trees are timed to when the seed pods are fully developed, but unopened, you can enjoy the cocas palm without the mess from the fallen fruit.

Another type of Palm Tree that we get to clean for our clients is the Cotton Palm, When the leaves die they bend downwards and form a skirt around the trunk. The shelter that the skirt creates provides a microhabitat for many invertebrates. It is also a fire hazard as well as a nesting haven for mice and rats, the barbed stem of the leaves can be very dangerous and minor blood loss is expected during the cleaning or removal process. Because of the protection that the sharp barbs, or thorns can offer, it also makes a ideal nesting place for a variety of bird life.

All types of palm trees have older leaves that die off, A lot of the types of palm trees are self cleaning , in that once the leaves die off, they detach themselves from the palm tree and fall to the ground, making keeping your palm trees much easier

All of the waste material from palm tree cleaning is mulched, you the customer is welcome to keep the palm tree mulch to use on your garden, otherwise it will be taken away for further recycling.
